This brand is about kinship, and kinship is never one thing. It is respect, and the way we come to resemble the people we love. Learning, and the culture we inherit without ever asking for it. The small things we borrow from one another without noticing. A relationship is its own kind of patchwork, and so is every piece that carries my name.
My mother has been an artist her whole life, and she still is: every piece begins in her hands. She keeps an extraordinary collection of materials, weaves and textures that were never meant to meet, and somehow she makes them belong. She sews, she draws, she cuts glass. She finds a second life in things the rest of the world would throw away, and quietly lets that life go on.
For most of her life, every piece she made was a gift, given to whoever she felt something for, and asked for nothing in return. That was enough for her, for a long time. Recently, we changed our minds: the world deserved that gift too.
We believe the world already holds more beauty than we tend to notice. So we begin with what is already here, the overlooked, the set aside, and give it new form. That is the whole of it.
